Hello Anne,
We still try to dedicate a hands on  or resource space in the gallery for all our special exhibitions. I do believe many museums no longer utilize their galleries for a interactive space as many mid to large sized museums now have dedicated education space in which to do these activities. Since we have no such space, I utilize the gallery to primarily to engage the families who come to the exhibitions.

Subject: Exhibition resource areas

Greetings, everyone.

My department has a goal to include a resource area as part of each special exhibition. This area can be a dedicated space for books or hands-on activities, or a simple display case.

Is this a trend that has seen its day or do you continue to have an education space in your exhibitions? What do you include?

Thanks for your assistance with this.
