Hi Shannon,

This sounds great! You might check out our Astor Educators program, it sounds like the approach you’re taking and your goals are very similar to what my colleagues have been doing with this program:

If so, I’d encourage you to reach out to them via the email address on the above webpage!

Best,

Elizabeth

Subject: [External] - [talk] Teacher Advisory/Workshop Programs

Good evening fellow educators,

I am in the process of planning and building a teacher partnership program at the National Air and Space Museum that leverages teachers as both learners and content developers. The program is being built from scratch, but the hope is that a small group of teachers from all over the country will begin as a pilot group and the program will grow and develop various touch points for different types of teachers (grade levels, content, school type, etc.).

I am in the EARLY planning stages and would love to hear from anyone who has a teacher advisory group or multi-point teacher workshop program in which teachers both learn from the museum and also help vet and create content, even mentoring newer teachers to the group. Right now I am outlining things and developing metrics for success. I’m interested to know about formative evaluation, lessons learned or any information you have on planning and logistics.

I realize that this is a BROAD ask, but any insight at all would be helpful!
