RE: Digital Cheetah versus Volunteerhub

Hello –

While I don’t have experience with the two platforms that you mentioned, I have used SignUp.com which was formerly Volunteer Spot. I’m not what the other platforms have that SignUp doesn’t, but for my purposes it works well. I’ve found that many of my docents aren’t very tech savvy, so the simpler the better is my approach. With SignUp, they are able to track hours, see the tour schedule live at their fingertips, sign up for tours, switch spots, etc. I’ve transitioned two programs to this system and it’s helped alleviate a lot of hassle with paper sign ups. The biggest drawback can be navigating the platform. For example, there is no option to save passwords and the initial dashboard can be confusing to navigate. Like anything new, there are some hiccups, but with a few reminders, my docents are all on board.

I should note that my docent body is quite large – 90 docents – and this system does what we need while being straightforward.

Good luck!

Hello all,

The Getty Museum is looking into a new online scheduling platform and we're curious to know if anyone else has experience with Digital Cheetah or Volunteerhub (or both!). I understand what each can do, but I want to get industry feedback---your pros and cons.

If anyone has experience with these platforms, I'd love to hear your feedback. Thanks!
