RE: Internship Evaluation

Hi Christine, this might be a bit overboard (our interns are full-time, residential interns so we ask a lot of questions!) but there might be some questions that you find of use.

·        Overall, how was your experience here?

·        What was your favorite moment? Maybe a favorite project?

·        Briefly note new skills, techniques and knowledge gained in this position.

·        Did you feel the work was a valuable experience in relation to your studies?

·        What was most satisfying about your job and/or internship experience?

·        Briefly describe what you consider to be your most significant lessons learned during this internship? Please provide specific examples.

·        Were you given adequate instruction and direction from staff in order to complete your projects? If not, please suggest some improvements.

·        Did you receive enough training to do your job effectively?  Is there anything we should focus more on?  Anything we should always continue to do?

·        Did you receive sufficient feedback on your performance?  How could we improve on our feedback?

·        How did your internship differ from your expectation (time, office environment, type of work)?

·        Discuss the weak points of your internship experience and ways they may be improved.

·        What was least satisfying about your internship experience?

·        Was there anything that was not covered that should have been covered in the internship program?

·        If you had any aspect of your internship to do over, what changes would you make?

·        Would you recommend this internship to others? Why/why not?

·        Were you given responsibilities enabling you to apply new knowledge and skills?

·        Were you allowed to take the initiative to work beyond the basic requirements of the job?

·        Any final thoughts on your time here at the Presidio?

Sincerely,

Jules McKnight

Subject: [talk] Internship Evaluation

Hello,

I am looking for resources for an evaluation for my interns to complete. They are undergraduate / education interns. I’m interesting in finding out about their experience and how it may inform their future path.

Thanks,
Christine
